This article relates to the 'Location' setting that was added to the user settings page in August '11.

Your settings are not used to target advertising - nor will this information be shared with 3rd parties. We'll never show you commercial advertising, read more.

The reason we are asking for your home city is twofold:

1. Local interest
   There may be odd occasion where there are certain items of local interest specific to your city, these could be things such as events, jobs or meet-up's. We'd use your city information in these occasions to keep you in the loop.
   
   As an example; Prevue sponsors a late-night meet-up of designers and developers in the Sydney area called Creative Places, so we notify anyone who'd listed their home city as Sydney of any free spaces.
2. Content distribution
   We are always looking for ways to make your Prevue experience faster - so by knowing your location, we're able to deliver your images and content via a server closer to your location. This will make the app snappier and more responsive! Read more about our technology.

If you'd prefer not to disclose your location, simply select the below option in the drop-down, and we'll never ask you again.
